It is an epiphytic climber with lanceolate-elliptic shaped leaves. Bright indirect light is best and feeding every two weeks in spring. Water thoroughly once the top inch of soil has dried out. Can be trained to climb or allowed to hang as a trailing plant. Once they filled the pot they are growing in with roots, they will then feel established and will bloom and rebloom all spring to late summer every year. Hoya gracilis is part of the Apocynaceae family and its native range is Sulawesi. A stunning variety of Hoya, this trailing plant has gorgeous speckled green leaves and will produce pretty pink clusters of flowers. In my experience,Hoyas do not like being transplanted.Although they will still be lush and foliage will continue to increase, repotting delays flowering for a year or two. They also need to be root bound to bloom. We will not be responsible for frozen plants if you did not purchase a heat pack. Hoyas are not cold hardy plants, so if your temperatures fall below 30F,please purchase a heat pack. They will be shipped with soil and pot they are growing in to prevent root damage.

The plant you will get is a well rooted established plant that is actively growing. We do not ship bare rooted Hoyas as taking them out of the pot and removing some soil will damage most of the roots and will take months to get them to reroot and get established again. Make sure to give your Hoyas a lot of bright light in order to bloom. If you can provide humidity, even better, but misting a few times a day usually does the job. It will thrive in a regular living room condition.Īlthough it is drought tolerant, it is best to NOT let the soil dry for more than 3 days and make sure to give the soil a good watering if you ever let it completely dry.I give mine a half strength complete fertilizer monthly or every two weeks when i have more time. You don't need a greenhouse to grow this Hoya species. Its unique caramel scented flowers makes it sought after by collectors and beginners alike. It can flower continously all year round under a 12 hour grow light or natural filtered sunlight. Typically harder to find than the more common Hoya carnosa, but is known for being a vigorous blooming variety. Hoya gracilis is formerly known as Hoya memoria This makes them drought-tolerant, and, overall, relatively easy to care for. Hoyas are semi-succulent epiphytic plants - meaning that they naturally pull nutrients and moisture from the air, and their thick leaves hold water similar to succulents. They make fantastic hanging plants, but can also easily climb trellises and moss poles. Hoyas are attractive trailing plants that have waxy thick leaves and long tendrils. New leaves emerge as dark maroon making a gorgeous contrast to the green older leaves. This is one of the smaller variety of Hoya that has beautiful silver splashes on the leaves.Fast growing and early flowering Hoya variety and another must have in an Urban jungle or a house plant setup.

This is not a starter or a rooted cutting. A well rooted established plant very similar in size as the photo actively growning in a 3.5" pot.
